Beer and Sports!

In the Daily Texan, Matthew Gil wrote an opinion on how selling beer at sporting events will be profitable to UT. During the trial period the University, UTPD and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission will evaluate the effectiveness and safety of the policy in order to decide whether or not to sell alcohol at fall sporting events, including football at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Matthew said drinking and watching sports is an american culture which i think he is right. which if everything turns out to be good, "Allowing to sale beer  at games could reduce the amount of tailgating, pre-gaming and binge drinking that occurs before the games even start. When the purchase of alcohol is prohibited, it forces an individual who wants to drink to consume excessive amounts to hold them off during the duration of the game. It is no secret that many fans are intoxicated before they hit the stands." allowing drinking more fans will want to go to more games and more money to the university. which would expand to selling to other sports besides football.
In this article Gil is reaching out to all the sports fans in Austin that they could go support their teams live if they control their alcohol and don't act crazy.

should i shoot......

In the Texas tribune, Julian Aguilar wrote an article about border patrol agents using their firearms  and CBP officers at the point of entry. U.S. Border Patrol Chief Michael J. Fisher instructed field agents to avoid shooting at vehicles that are only fleeing the scene and to consider all available alternatives to firing their weapons when hurled at agents for example rocks, something most immigrants  use when crossing, remember some of the people also crossing may be trying to cross illegal drugs as well. fisher also said “Agents shall not discharge firearms in response to thrown or hurled projectiles unless the agent has a reasonable belief based on the totality of the circumstances to include the size of nature of the projectiles that the subject of such force poses an imminent danger of death or serious injury.” in a way i understand why fisher is trying to stop the agents from firing their weapons all the time and to find other solutions to handle the situation. unless they have no choice but to fire their weapon.
also that cbp officers need to start writing a full statement with full details when they are writing their reports. with this bill passing more life's would be saved  for both border patrol agents and immigrants crossing over, and cbp officers will have more backup if accused of anything. this may not fix the whole problem but it will be a start for the agents and cbp officers.

Refugees in Texas Face Hurdles Signing Up for Obamacare Plans!

By the end of March everybody should have signed up for health insurance even refugees. Which for most refugees who don't even speak English are having a tough time signing up because, they have no idea what obamacare is and what it's doing for them. so every Thursday John Monger and some church volunteers come to Austin to help out refugees sign up for insurance. Texas gets about 7,800 refugees a year all speaking different kinds languages.
This article is interesting because Austin is doing their best to help out others who have no idea what they are doing to get their insurance. if they are not insured by this year they will pay a penalty in next year's tax return.most of these guys will struggle because like most of us we are already living paycheck by paycheck.
